Turkish food in Liverpool: where to eat, by neighbourhood
Liverpool's Turkish restaurants are almost all in one postcode: twelve of the city's thirty-five sit within a few streets of Bold Street. That makes the centre one of the most competitive Turkish dining strips outside London, and the suburbs one of the emptiest.

This guide walks Liverpool by neighbourhood: Bold Street and the Ropewalks; Smithdown Road and Wavertree; Allerton, Crosby and the Wirral; What to order in Liverpool. Counts, hygiene shares and postcode clusters come from our directory; the map below is seeded on the city centre, and each neighbourhood links to the restaurants we list there.
Bold Street and the Ropewalks
Bold Street, Seel Street and the streets between them hold Liverpool's Turkish trade: grills, meze restaurants, doner counters and a couple of places that do breakfast. Competition keeps standards up and prices reasonable, and the strip is busy every night of the week. If you want Turkish food in Liverpool this is where you will find it.
Smithdown Road and Wavertree
The student corridor of Smithdown Road has a few doner and grill counters serving the late trade. It is takeaway territory rather than sit-down.
Allerton, Crosby and the Wirral
The southern suburbs along Allerton Road, Crosby to the north and the whole of the Wirral across the water have almost no Turkish restaurant between them, despite steady search demand. Hygiene ratings in the city are a weak point: only two of eleven rated restaurants in our directory hold a 5.
What to order in Liverpool
The Bold Street grills do a good mixed grill and the meze restaurants a proper cold plate; breakfast is available at weekends in two or three places. For a Turkish family restaurant outside the centre, Liverpool is waiting for someone to open one.
