This guide walks Oxford by neighbourhood: Cowley Road; City centre and Jericho; Headington and Summertown; Verdict. Counts, hygiene shares and postcode clusters come from our directory; the map below is seeded on the city centre, and each neighbourhood links to the restaurants we list there.

Cowley Road

Cowley Road is Oxford's food street and holds most of the city's Turkish trade: a grill, a meze restaurant, a takeaway. Busy with students and locals, and the natural place for any new opening.

City centre and Jericho

The centre has a Turkish restaurant or two near the covered market, priced for the city; Jericho, dense with restaurants, has none.

Headington and Summertown

Headington's London Road and Summertown's Banbury Road, both busy neighbourhood high streets with affluent residents, have no Turkish restaurant. The demand data shows searches from both.

Verdict

Oxford is the clearest small-city opportunity in the country: a wealthy, international population, five restaurants, and thousands of monthly searches. A sit-down ocakbaşı in Summertown or Jericho would have no direct competitor.
