Ayran
A cold, salted yoghurt drink, whisked until foamy; the standard drink with kebab.
Two parts yoghurt to one part water and a pinch of salt, served very cold. It cuts fat and pepper better than any soft drink and is the reason Turks do not drink cola with kebab. Ask for it 'köpüklü', foamy, where it is made fresh.
